Massage Therapists - Mother's Day Massage Packages and Gift Cards
Mother's Day is a wonderful time of the year to celebrate our mothers! It is also a brilliant time of year to attract new clients and sell many gift certificates. First let's examine what many of us want for our mom. When you buy your mom a gift, what are you looking for? Many people want their mom to feel special. They want her to be pampered. They imagine her being treated like a queen. They want her to feel refreshed and rejuvenated. How can your massage businesses help give a mom the best experience? We can use this opportunity to create luxurious packages. If you were to help someone have the experience of feeling special and royal, what would you imagine? First the name of the package - what name helps sell this amazing experience? Some ideas could be the Queen Package, Royal Treatment Package, Ultimate Bliss Package or simply Mother's Day Package. Create a name that appeals to you. Next, what can we include in the package? Perhaps a complimentary beverage, hot tea, refreshing fruit juice, or glass of wine. If offering a free cocktail, check with your city to make sure it is legal for you to offer a complimentary alcohol beverage. Perhaps include some yummy treats like chocolate candy or pastry. During the massage session what can you include? Some ideas could be aroma therapy scalp massage, mint foot masque, sugar scrub treatment, hot stones, and hot towels. What extras can you include and promote in your advertising? Make a list of different options you could include. You could create a 60 minute package and include 2 extras and a 90 minute package and include 4 extras. You can decide what is in package or you could write up a list and let your customer choose. When writing up your promotional offers for your website, facebook business page, social media and print copies use words that appeal to potential buyers. For example - Pamper your Mom! Mom deserve the royal experience. Mother's Day massage packages - the perfect gift to say I love and appreciate you mom! Write up all the special treatments she will receive. The buyer will be clear this package is way above and beyond the basic 60 minute massage. If you enjoy the packages and want to have them apart of your regular menu, add them to your services. If you want to offer these packages temporary, only offer them for a specific period - like May Mother's Day Specials. This is a great opportunity to experiment. You can see what packages are popular with your customers, get feed back not only from customers but also the therapists providing the service. For example we offered sugar scrub treatment one month, but the therapists found the sugar scrub too sticky. We realized we preferred offering the peppermint mint masque instead. One way you can increase your sales in gift cards, is by creating a bonus offer. For example, every gift card $75.00 or more receive one free peppermint masque foot treatment. Or every $100.00 gift card receives $10.00 massage money. I like to create business size cards with my bonus offer, this way the buyer can decide to keep the bonus or pass it along with the gift. Mother's day is really a special time of the year, and we are lucky we get to help many moms celebrate!
